About The Seminar

ISHA Belgrade and Students of History Club are proud to welcome you to the ISHA New Year Seminar of 2011. It will be held from December 26th to January 2nd in Belgrade, Serbia. The topic of the seminar is Marginal Groups through History.

Academic part of seminar is based on six workshops, which will cover several general categories of social groups which are considered as marginal:
1) Slaves,
2) Women,
3) Different religions and ethnic groups
4) "Third gender",
5) Various Outlaws,
6) People with certain health conditions.


Non-academic program will contain guided tours around the city of Belgrade, beautiful capital of Serbia, situated on the confluence of Danube and Sava rivers, during the history known as “The Gate of Europe”. Also we plan for our guests one-day trip to Novi Sad, second biggest city of Serbia, which is well-known for its multicultural and multiethnical background. In addition to regular ISHA-parties, participants and visitors will attend specatular New Year’s party.


The application period is from October 31st until November 6th. Based on the applications 40 students will be accepted to enter the seminar.

The participation fee will be 90 €.
